Change of season

Spring - Time to put down your seed. Ask yourself what crops would you like to see in the fall. Sharpen your skill (communication, poetry, finance, positive mental altitude, parenting), exercise (health), relationship(spend time) and start moving.

Summer - Protect the seed from the birds. Protect the goods (value) including friendship, family, positive mental altitude, exercise and finance. Stay focus.

Fall - Face the music and get the result. Look back at the Spring and ask yourself how you're going to continue with the good result and improve the result.

Winter - Prepare for the Spring. You know as well as I do that opportunity is going to knock on the door. Stay alert.

Hard power vs. soft power

Do we use hard power or soft power when dealing with our precious child?

I always tell myself to use 100% soft power because this is the best way to get result and have a good relationship with the child. My wife has a different opinion. She believes that it's necessary to use hard power 20% of the time. The child will remember the discipline for the rest of his/her life time. It seems to her that hard power will impact the child's life in the long run and the soft power will impact the child's life in the short run. I don't necessarily agree or disagree with her opinion. I need to think about it. My goal is to provide the best value (health, positive mental altitude, relationship and abundant finance) for my child.

One thing I am certain is that using too much hard power will back fire. It will ruin the relationship between the parent and the child. The only thing that I am not certain is that not using hard power will have the drawback. It will also have impact in the child's life, too.

Go through life with talents

I believe that in life, you figure out your pattern (interest and talent) and do this every day for the rest of your life. You will bring tremendous amount of value (happiness, satisfaction, wealth) to you, your family and other billion of people.

Bill Gates has done it.
Warren Buffet has done it.
John Rockfeller did it.

This is the life I envision.

Fishing

Put a small fish on the fishing pole and getting a bigger fish.

Facebook put a small fish on the fishing pole by giving out the service for free. It gets a big fish by getting big money from corporation.

I go to a car mechanic. He usually changes oil for a cheap price. However, when my car needs to fix. He charge a lot to fix the car. Is he following the fishing principle. You bet.

I provide value to my dad, my mom, my son and my wife.

Children books

My wife wants to teach the child to read books. The child seems not to be interested in the books that my wife bought. My wife looks at me unhappy. Later on, we realize that the child only prefers the book that I like but not the books my wife like. Yesterday, we went to the book store and bought a few children's book that I like. The child seems to be very happy about it. It's always good to make the wife happy.

Value

Every talent has values.

I didn't realize this at first. I usually run away when a sales person approaching me. Recently, I learn that if my child needs some learning tools, I'll be happy to hear what the sales person can provide. If the tool is valueable, I like the sales person.

Cure

I found a way to cure depression. I plan to use it to help homeless and people with this symptom. It has nothing to do with drug and I believe that it will give people a positive outlook. This has always been one of my goal since my college year. I like the solution and I will find a way to give to billion of others.
